We offer many activities throught the year for our members and encourage fellowship. We feel it is of great importance to remain connected while we all continue on our homeschool journey, encouraging one another along the way. 


Welcome to Christian Home Educators Fellowship of Greater New Orleans! CHEF of GNO is a local home school support organization for the Greater New Orleans Area. Founded over 30 years ago, CHEF has been encouraging and assisting families in their home school adventure. CHEF of GNO helps families navigate the home schooling process and creates community through our many planned activities such as: semester long Physical Education classes, mom's night out, a family camping trip, a family thanksgiving banquet, kindergarten graduation, a father / daughter night out, science and history nights, field day and many more. These events have helped deepen relationships within the organization and highlights Christian Home Education to families exploring the viable option of home schooling. CHEF of GNO is a registered 501 (c)3 non-profit organization that also provides home school information workshops, home school training events, home school informational materials and legislative representation to ensure that the freedom to home school in Louisiana is always protected. Our volunteer Board of Directors and families are always available to assist you with your home schooling questions and needs. The vision of our heart as a community is to build and deepen relationships between our families. Our focus is fellowship, support, and discipleship. By committing to the following biblical guidelines of communication and conflict resolution, we can ensure that these aspects will flourish within our community as we seek to love, serve, and grow with one another. Let our fellowship be what it is supposed to be: encouraging one another, supporting one another, and spurring one another on during this journey.. “I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

Conflict Resolution
When conflict does arise, we encourage you to deal with it biblically according to the
principles stated in Matthew 18:
1. First, approach your brother or sister in Christ personally to try to talk
about the perceived offense.
2. If the conflict is not resolved, take two or more brothers or sisters in Christ
and discuss the problem again.
3. If the grievance hasn't been resolved at that point, you may bring it to
somebody on the board and we will discuss it as a board at a future time
in hopes of achieving a resolution.
*** If a member comes to you with a grievance against another member, please encourage your brother or sister in Christ to follow this biblical method of conflict resolution and address it directly with the offender.

Facebook Etiquette
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right,
whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or
praiseworthy—think about such things.” Philippians 4:8
Often with social media, tone and intent can be lost through the screen. Please help keep our Facebook page kind, uplifting, and drama-free by using Philippians 4:8 as a standard for posting. Opinionated personal editorials are discouraged to prevent individual conflicts that are not in line with our Christian beliefs. We highly encourage face to face interaction, communication via phone calls and conversations to address personal conflicts using Matthew 18 (see above). Posts and/or comments that are overtly negative, inflammatory, and unnecessary or accusatory opinions will be deleted by an admin without notice. Please refrain from “call out” posts. For example, if you are in charge of an event and you have 2-3 people that have yet to pay, please do not call them out publicly on the page. Contact them privately via direct message or using the contact information they provided on the CHEF website. If you try to reach them and are unsuccessful, contact a board member to help communicate with them. Posts stating, “I have the following people registered for this event: are permitted.
